Music at Living Faith 2012

Music is a vital part of worship at Living Faith Lutheran - and our services are blessed with a variety of instruments, traditional & contemporary selections and musical gifts. In this photo, organist Ruei-Hwa Shyu duets with guest pianist Craig Flaherty on Beethoven's Variations on a Theme by Waldstein - our end-of-worship postlude on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012.

Noora entrances on the kantele

Noora Arola brings a most exotic musical flourish to our June 17, 2012 worship service. The kantele is the national instrument of Finland, ranging from 5 to 40 strings. (This instrument has 39 strings.) For our postlude, she played Pollati Poro Lullati by Martii Pokela.

Noora and Johanna

Noora Arola plays her kantele - the national instrument of Finland - as Johanna Ahonen looks on. Johanna and her family (also from Finland) worshipped with our congregation while work brought them to the Rockville area. Among the selections Noora played on July 17, 2012: Mun Kanteleeni by Kreeta Haapasalo as our offeratory music.
